Introduction to Kayaking

If you have always wanted to learn kayaking, here's your oppportunity to learn from an American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor! Kayaking is great exercise whether for fun or sport...just ask anyone who does it! Class will be taught in a pool while you learn basic paddling skills, wet exits, positioning, paddle strokes, hip snaps, rescues and more. All equipment, kayaks and pool fees will be provided and are included in the tuition. Note: Saturday class time is PM, Sunday is AM. Mandatory signed waiver at class. Your instructor is Class 3 Whitewater Certified. Ages 14 yrs old to 114 yrs old welcome!

Beginning Bird Watching

Do you wonder what that beautiful bird is flying through your yard? Do you often hear a bird singing and wish you could name the songster? This class will cover the basics of bird watching and is designed for those with little or no bird watching experience! You will learn bird families, identifying birds using field guides, using binoculars and our local migrating birds. We will enjoy a Saturday morning bird walk in town on May 3. Please bring your own binoculars for the field trip.

Basics of Fly Tying

Do you enjoy fly fishing or looking for a way to get started in it? Fill up your fly box this winter and learn more about what the fish are eating with an experienced fly fishing guide! Feel free to use your own equipment and materials, but tying materials and equipment will be provided for those beginners. Different patterns will be tied in each class so enjoy them all. NOTE: Additional $10 fee paid to instructor for supplies if used. S14A class date has been changed to March 21.

Photography: Painting With Light

One of the most important topics in photography in taking a great picture is..(drum roll)..the use of light. This class will cover how to constantly get professional looking photos with great lightings weather it’s portrait, outdoor, indoor, studio and more. We’ll also cover how this is accomplished with digital camera and post-processing in Photoshop or other image software.
