Flat Breads & Crackers


Looking for a delicious accompaniment to spring soups or salads? Flatbreads are the basis of many traditional cuisines and are served all across the world. Homemade flatbreads and crackers are easy to make and yummy to serve!  We will make the popular flatbread Naan and a crispy Parmesan Sesame Cracker. Bring your apron and come prepared to wield a rolling pin with Chef Leni Sorensen of Indigo House.

Have fun and experiment with water colors! Learn the basic skills of watercolor techniques through mini-lectures, demonstrations and critiques. Supply list will be e-mailed with registration confirmation or may be downloaded below. Taught by award-winning artist, Tribie Knapp.

Healthy Meal Prep for Busy Lives


Do you know all the right things to eat for a healthy lifestyle, but find yourself unable to pull them all together? Do you need fresh ideas for delicious meals and snacks that can be prepared quickly and easily? This class will discuss the basics of meal preparation for those living busy lives. Information will be shared in reference to a healthy diet for those on-the-go as well as specific useful products and methods of meal preparation designed to fit into a busy life.

Dr. Melissa Adams is a local chiropractor who is currently working in a nutrition clinic and has her own chiropractic practice, One More Step Wellness Center, LLC. Although Dr. Adams is new to the area, she has brought with her chiropractic experience from the Chicago area and several years of experience with providing individuals with varying nutritional advice. Dr. Adams enjoys working with people of all ages, especially seeing them achieve their goals by taking one more step each day in the direction of meeting their health and wellness goals.

Upholstery Techniques


Learn basic upholstery techniques!  Recovering a small piece of furniture will be the project for this course. The terminology of upholstery and tools of the trade will be used
 and applied to finish a small piece of furniture. Students will bring a 4" x 6" photo of the small piece of furniture he/she would like to recover to the first class.  Students will learn where and how to purchase upholstery fabric for their project. Measuring, cutting and removal of old fabric will be a focal point of the course. Students  also will be introduced to repairing/cleaning and staining scratched or damaged wood. Supply list will be handed out at the first class. Limited to 10 students.

Intro to Jewelry Making


Engage your creative side and save money on gifts!  Learn how to make your own jewelry.  Have fun while creating necklaces, bracelets, earrings are more.  This is a hobby that can pay for itself.  This course will cover basic jewelry makings skills and tools.  All skill levels are welcome. At least eight pieces will be made.  If time permits you will be able to make more. All beading supplies, materials and tools will be provided.  A materials fee of $50.00 is due to the instructor at the first class.


Heart Health For Life


Not only is heart disease the leading cause of death in the US, but the majority is due to diet and lifestyle.  Gratefully, diet and lifestyle is within our control.  Whether you’re struggling with a heart problem or just looking to remain healthy and reduce risks, this class will teach you the latest information on increasing your hearth health with proper nutrition.  We will discuss the cholesterol myth, inflammation, what fats harm or help and beneficial lifestyle practices that will keep your heart healthy for life.

Jena Savadsky Griffith is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Eating Psychology Coach with a private practice in Madison County. Having had a successful career in music and television production, Jena was inspired to redirect her work path and returned to school after transforming her own health and life with nutrition. She frequently teaches, writes and presents on food and nutrition based change.

Guitar for Beginners


This is an introductory course for those who have little or no experience with guitar. Main topics include: Playing melodies, chords, and reading music. Students will be expected to perform with an ensemble and as a soloist.

Bring guitar, picks, three ring binder, pencil, and a smile.

Materials fee  of $10.00 payable to instructor on first day of class includes Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 1, and other printed materials. No class on April 3.

Limited to 15 students. Ages 14 through adult are welcome.
